Graph V2 Improvements

We have introduced Graph V2 in version 11.1 as a new and better way to craft logic, effects, and control in Photon. We are continuing to improve it. This enhanced version brings a host of new nodes, including a Depth Sensor Node, a Signal Generator Node, and an Audio Analysis Node, allowing for more versatile control and integration. The DMX 3D Mapping Node enables efficient moving light fixture management, while features like advanced search, legend listing, and improved node selection streamline usability. With the addition of new functionalities, such as value-to-list converters and enhanced profiling options to understand task bottlenecks, users can now create more complex and visually appealing projects with ease.

Overall, Graph V2 represents a significant leap forward, promising greater flexibility and performance for all our users.

3D Scene

Transformation Priors are now fully integrated into various primitives derived from virtual cameras, eliminating the need for separate primitives for prior reference. A new toggle allows users to display or hide Transformation Priors in a 3D scene, and controls have been added for independent manipulation. Recent improvements ensure decorative objects appear black in texture rendering mode, while semi-transparent objects no longer show white in wireframe mode. We have resolved issues with 3D geometric models not appearing post-restart and enhancements in manual calibration visibility. Particle system primitive now fully supports Graph V2 rendering. Additionally, Depth Sensor primitives now feature visualization in the form of a pyramid for better orientation clarity. The LED Mapper has implemented locked DMX addresses and editing icons for streamlined editing and configuration. We have also addressed loading issues with certain DXF files from Leica. These updates are designed to provide a smoother, more efficient workflow for all users.

SLAC & RT Calib

We are thrilled to introduce exciting updates to our Real-Time Calibration and SLAC systems that enhance workflow efficiency and performance. A new step for RT Calibration has been integrated into the SLAC workflow. We have made the cross-fade value independent from calibration, enhanced Copernic detection with ID exclusion, and revamped the user interface to provide real-time camera data insights. Additionally, users can quickly enable or disable RT Calib during device pairing. With significantly faster reconstruction speeds, these updates are designed to help optimize your calibration and video projection projects.

You can now fully simulate and test the calibration before being on location. The SLAC workflow Simulation Mode treats Null Trackers as decoded Copernics, improving the visualization of visible trackers. It includes a calibration ground volume simulation with RT Calib and Albion Tracking. The Camera Prior reflects the physical camera, helping users more easily identify calibration errors by measuring distances in a 3D scene.

Timeline

The Timeline feature in version 11.5 introduces significant enhancements aimed at improving user efficiency and control during media production. One of the notable upgrades is the ability to create clips across multiple screens while automatically assigning media and allowing for the multiselection of specific properties. Additionally, the new DMX controls and the introduction of Timeline Markers, which can be utilized for show control and navigation, further streamline the workflow. These improvements not only facilitate better project organization but also enhance the overall user experience in managing a complex timeline.

Collectively, these updates are designed to streamline creative processes and provide a more intuitive interface for media professionals.

V11.3 Is Out

The latest 11.3 update brings an exciting array of enhancements, especially to boost collaborative work.

With the new Multi-user Timeline, real-time collaboration for editing and effects becomes seamless and efficient. Preview Programming Playhead Mode introduces time-detachable playhead, providing a smoother and more flexible editing experience.

The inclusion of looping tools and a redesigned region tab makes show programming much more flexible. On the other hand, the new Calibration Tab, enhanced LED mapping tools, and LED DMX Mapping for 3D Scene offer advanced capabilities.

SLAC’s new workflow for camera and projector alignment ensures enhanced calibration accuracy even in the most difficult conditions such as worklight or even daylight. The addition of Graph V2 allows for advanced nodal programming.

This update amplifies creative possibilities and fosters enhanced collaboration, efficiency, and flexibility.

Introducing Graph V2

We have completely redesigned the graph from the ground up, with logic and graphic nodal programming in mind, while retaining all the capabilities of Graph V1. V2 opens up many new possibilities in terms of gamification and complex logic creation for your shows and events.

Furthermore, you can now nest graphs into other ones, allowing abstraction of complex logic into reusable and versatile nodes. This will help you solve intricate challenges with more ease.

The Timeline is now fully Multi-user!

When editing and creating media and effects on the timeline, this collaborative environment enables multiple users to work together on a project timeline. The system allows real-time collaboration, efficient task management, and seamless integration of various elements into the final visual production.

Real-Time Collaboration

Several users can work simultaneously on different aspects of the project, such as editing sequences, applying effects, adjusting animations, grading, and more. Changes made by one user are immediately visible to others, ensuring synchronization and reducing the chances of conflicts.

Speeding up the process

In large productions, Photon is capable of handling a massive amount of media and numerous requests from the creative team. Having multiple users who can interact with different parts of the timeline greatly increases the speed of creation.

Media – With delivering outstanding quality, comes outstanding power

As screens improve with resolution and color spaces, we think a media playback solution should, too. That’s why we have developed our servers with the ability to play back content streams at 20 gigabytes per second. You read that right. 20-Gigabytes-per-second. That means you could simultaneously playback thirty-six layers of 4K 30Hz YUV 4:2:0, 8-bit-per-pixel video files or six layers of 4K 60Hz RGB 4:4:4 HDR, 16-bit-per-pixel video files from a single server. PHOTON and XENON can playback content so smoothly that you wouldn’t even feel like you are looking at a screen. As PHOTON and XENON are scalable systems, we can provide enough playback streams to blur the lines between the digital and real world.

We worked with industry leaders in HDR content production to optimize our rendering pipeline to keep end-to-end quality with professional color grading tools, a real-time effects engine, 8K video input card support, faster file transfer speeds, and LED file cropping at conversion for even greater effective resolutions. Our AI-powered content up-scaler enhances low-resolution content to create a brilliant image for these demanding screens.
